Satie – an eccentric in Paris

22nd November 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
£17 – £22
Jake Spence is delighted to invite you to his next solo piano recital: Satie – an eccentric in Paris. St Vincent’s Chapel, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, on Saturday 22nd November at 7.00pm.
Erik Satie (1866-1925) is the main focus of this programme, as 2025 is his 100th anniversary. He’ll be performing a variety of his piano pieces – including the famous Gymnopédie No 1 and Je te veux, as well as many of his humorous works. Surrounding these pieces are short works by his contemporaries and admirers – such as Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Stravinsky and many more besides. The programme aims to paint a musical picture of the Paris that Satie knew and loved, whilst also examining his lasting influence on contemporaries and later generations of composers.
