Wine Tasting Event Edinburgh: Perthshire Wines with Wee Matched Plates

19 May @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

£45

Welcome to the Ruthven Bothy, where amazing Scottish food, banter and drink all come together. It’s not just a place—it’s a celebration of living well, and making the most of our time on this mortal coil.

You see, the bothy is more than just a cosy shelter in the wild; it’s a state of mind, a heid space where we find comfort and nourishment. It represents the wild and beautiful Scottish landscape, and the wild and beautiful folk within it.

Prepare your taste buds for a journey through Perthshire’s vineyards with Cairn O’Mohr’s exquisite fruit wines that have been matched to our wee plates.

We will welcome you with a glass of Perthshire Strawberry Fizz, ting-tangling that rolls away like a fluffy cloud caught in a light, summer’s day breeze.

With six wines to taste, we will take you on a journey from Elderflower Wine, whose blossoms are hand picked, stripped, and pressed by fair maidens and handsome chiels, through to the dark and silky Blairgowrie Cherry Wine which tastes like little Red Riding Hood lost in the Black Forest. With each glass your worries will disappear until you care no more.

What’s on the table you ask? Every one of our six tasting plates will take you back to our food roots. West Coast Herring, a wee bit of Sheep, Roe Deer, foraged Wild Garlic, puddings made with Elderflower and a teeny twist on the Scotch Egg, are just some of the highlights. All ingredients are locally sourced and lovingly prepared.

So join us on Sunday 19th May from 15:30 to 17:30 at Bellfield in Portobello for an exclusive Scottish wine tasting with some traditional Scottish food that is a bit out of the ordinary.
