Edinburgh’s Whisky Festival returns to Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday 10th October 2026 for one of Scotland’s largest and most exciting celebrations of whisky.
Whether you’re a seasoned whisky enthusiast, completely new to whisky, visiting Edinburgh for the weekend or simply looking for a unique day out in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh’s Whisky Festival offers an unforgettable experience in one of the country’s most iconic venues.
Hosted within Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, the festival brings together leading distilleries, independent bottlers, whisky brands and industry experts from across Scotland and beyond. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample hundreds of whiskies (all included in ticket price), discover new favourites and meet the people behind the drams.
Visitors can explore a vast range of Scotch whiskies from every corner of Scotland, including Highland, Speyside, Islay, Campbeltown and Lowland expressions, alongside independent bottlings, limited releases and exciting new discoveries.
In addition to whisky tasting, the festival experience includes:
- Live music throughout the day
- Interactive whisky heritage exhibition dating as far back as the 1700’s
- Live coopering demonstrations from DIAGEO
- Opportunities to meet distillers, brand ambassadors and independent bottlers
- A dedicated whisky shop where visitors can purchase bottles to take home
- Exclusive festival bottlings and limited releases
- Food and refreshments available throughout the event
Edinburgh’s Whisky Festival attracts visitors from across Scotland, the rest of the UK and overseas, making it one of the highlights of Scotland’s whisky events calendar. The festival has built a reputation for combining exceptional whisky with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a strong sense of community.
The event is also proud to support My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, helping raise awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease research through a variety of fundraising activities during the festival.
Located just minutes from Edinburgh city centre, Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium offers excellent public transport links, nearby accommodation options and easy access for visitors travelling by train, tram, bus or car. This makes Edinburgh’s Whisky Festival an ideal addition to a weekend break in Edinburgh or a dedicated whisky tourism trip to Scotland.
